Jess and Kelly have a small flock of 10 birds in a suburb of Chicago. Our flock free ranges throughout the day in our backyard and are feed a corn-free and soy-free diet of 16% protein. Going into our first winter, Kelly was worried about the chicken's ability to keep warm, as well as egg production.

With Jessica’s industry knowledge on animal nutrition, she suggested to mix tallow into the feed to bump up the fat to give the chickens more energy to both regulate body temperature better and to keep laying. We then decided that the chickens needed more protein. One thing led to another and the next thing we knew, we discovered that chickens LOVE meat!

After a few months of deliberating, we hatched our plan to create the first animal protein-based feed line. Inspired by our other pets, we looked to dog and cat treats for inspiration as we developed our product assortment and we are egg-cited to serve our fellow poultry enthusiasts!
